"Sigríður Gilbertson was at age of 28 when she
started nursing at the Red Cross in Fort Snelling in Minnesota
in US. She was born the 6th of December 1890 in Minneota, Minnesota in US. Her parents
were Sturlaugur
Guðbrandsson from Dalasýsla and Áslaug Guðmundsdóttir from Barðastrandasýsla.
Sigríður graduated from
nursing school in US. After her graduation she joined The Red Cross and was working there
as a nurse until
end of the War.
